Fire Mountain has a block party every year called HOLLY JOLLY on MOLLY. It's a holiday themed party in December located on the cul-de-sac of Molly street (off California/ between Downs/Avocado.

Neighbors are asked to bring either an appetizer or dessert to share! There's a small fire pit that is set up, so some people bring a chair to sit around the fire and chat. Cider and Hot Coco is provided, this year Oliver and I made some
 traditional hot Mulled Wine, which was a hit, so we'll be bringing that again next year! The party is put on my the FOFM (Friends of Fire Mountain group) just a few neighbors, myself included who want to have some community events each year.  It's a fun event and a great chance to meet your neighbors and reconnect.

Fire Mountain and local Realtor - Market Update

I’m Melia Indra, a resident of Fire Mountain and local Realtor since 2008. I love our Fire Mountain neighborhood and wanted to re-connect and provide information on what real estate service we provide as well as current market statistics. 
Last week I visited a few neighbors to give them the update on their homes. I shared that inside our small community of around 450 - there were 11 active listings. A healthy market has around 6%-10% active listings. 11 active is only 2.4% - so a very low inventory - which is great for Sellers, but not great for Buyers. I went door knocking to see who was interested in selling their Oceanside home. Guess what, not many. Turns out Fire Mountain residents really love living in Fire Mountain, and for the most part they found their 'forever home'. 
In the past six months, there were 21 solds in 2015. With an average of 25 days on the market and average of $350 dollars per square foot, averaging $620,000 sales price. Fire Mountain has a variety of homes, from large estates to small 1950 bungalows - so the price range really goes from $550,000 (a fixer) to $1.599 million (current listing on 1894 Avocado )

Fire Mountain Pending Sales

Market Updates 11/19/15!!

Fire Mountain currently only has an inventory percentage of 2.5% - very low. This means that sellers have an advantage to get high dollar for their home. Buyers are looking for homes in the $700,000 -$900,000 that are remodeled. Many homes current listed (there are only 11 ) are in the $600,000 range but need a lot of updating.

There's a brand new listing in Fire Mountain that is SUPER Remodeled on LA PAZ  listed for $889,000 - it has 4 bedrooms and an extra room that can be used as a granny flat. I visited the home last week while they were putting on the final touches, and it's really nice, really open floor plan. Turns out after they cut down the over grown trees, they found - THE OCEAN. LOL So a little ocean peak while washing dishes never hurt anyone.

I also saw a fixer yesterday in Fire Mountain that needs a lot of work, new roof, new siding, new floors, windows, and paint...the kitchen was OK. But it had a reversed floor plan.
